About Me

Hi!

I am a master's student at Simon Fraser University in the Marine Biodiversity and Conservation Lab, as well as a student of Advanced GIS studies at Okanagan College.

I began my GIS journey to improve my analytical skillset as a marine ecologist and conservationist. Geospatial frameworks for data analysis allows us to identify complex ecological patterns in a 3D space, so we can locate sites of particular interest and tailor conservation and fisheries management actions accordingly.

I am now able to apply my findings from my master's on shark demography and extend it to the global ocean, allowing me to visualize how important traits for shark population resilience change with body size and the environment.

I am excited to see where my newfound skills and spatial perspective of marine science will take me after grad school!
