About Me

Roya is studying Geography at Simon Fraser University. Her research focuses on how  to better protect location privacy. She has a diverse range of experience that spans analyzing human movements to GPS bias, social media data, among many other topics. Throughout this experience, she has developed the technical skills necessary to write software and perform analysis, as well as the ability to deliver complex information to a wide range of audiences. As such, her strengths lie in her ability to effectively synthesize and communicate information across domains, and in doing so bridge gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholders. By developing a Geographic Information System (GIS) toolbox, she could ease the process of human mobility modeling and anonymization which is crucial but poorly perceived in the academic geography.
