About Me

D. Bailey Clark is from Kensington, Prince Edward Island, and completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in History at UPEI in 2022. His Honours research examined the history of road paving on the Island in the 1950s and 1960s. He is currently enrolled in UPEI’s Master of Arts, Island Studies program. His thesis research will be a historical geography and environmental history of the Prince Edward Island Railway. During the summer of 2023, he has worked with Dr. Joshua MacFadyen. Using GIS, they have been mapping the data in the 1871 Canadian Agricultural Census manuscripts. In particular, they have located the farmers and their agricultural data in King Township, Ontario, on lots and concessions. Their work reveals spatial trends from the agricultural census on a larger scale than ever before. See the attached poster. D. Bailey Clark - Esri Scholarship Poster - 23-08-10
