About Me
An interesting path lead me to computer science and pairing this with geography is the perfect fit for my talents. I strive to gain knowledge and experience in remote sensing, geomatics, GIS, and software development so I may continue with my passions.  Through a coop with Natural Resources Canada I had the honor of working with a team researching the use of InSAR for forest canopy height mapping which resulted in a journal publication. This experience fostered the passion I have for remote sensing and algorithm development. Furthermore, through classes on machine learning and artificial intelligence a pursuit on how machine learning can be integrated into GIS and remote sensing analysis and data processing began. Research on the the effects of different machine learning algorithms for land classification models was my capstone project at UVic in 2019. I am working as a Research Assistant and Web Map Developer while starting my MSc. Geography at UVic in September, 2019. I feel blessed to have gains so much professional experience alongside my education throughout my BSc, and I hope to continue this in the future. For the future, I hope to be able to do work/research which will help to grow my passions in GIS and machine learning.
