About Me
In my time at Georgian, I have taken two dedicated GIS courses, in addition to applying the use of ArcGIS in other classes such as Advanced Hydrology. My experience working within ArcGIS has proven valueble as well during my co-op placements, where I was able to apply my knowledge in real-world scenarios. The main highlight of my GIS journey so far was attending the 2024 Skills Ontario competition with my teammate and classmate Liam, where we won the gold medal in the first ever GIS competition. In the future, I hope to continue using GIS in my professional career as much as possible, possibly for water resource management or civil infrastructure applications. Receiving the Esri Canada Scholarship is meaningful to me in two distinct ways. First, it helps ease the financial burdens during my final year at Georgian College, allowing me to focus more fully on my studies and research projects. Second, it serves as recognition of the time and effort I’ve dedicated to learning and improving my GIS skills, and reinforces my commitment to continuing to develop said skills.
