"Being a 2016 Esri Canada GIS Scholarship recipient means a great deal to me because this was my first formal educational experience in the world of GIS. I have learned so much about Esri technology and GIS applications over the last year and I am look forward to further developing my GIS skillset in the years ahead with the software and training resources provided to me as a scholarship recipient."

About Me
I am a recent GIS enthusiast with a background in communications, electronic publishing and data management.  I have worked in the environmental industry since 2006 and have been steadily trying to incorporate GIS technology into my workflow over the years. I decided to pursue a Advanced Diploma in GIS Applications at VIU in 2015 as a way to bridge some knowledge gaps in regard to GIS concepts and applications, and also to help me take the next step in my career development. Outside of GIS, my interests include photography and writing/producing/performing music. I am also a huge fan of, and avidly follow, the sport of boxing.
